Firstly I want to say congratulations as presumably if you have come to my website you are expecting a very special arrival or perhaps thinking of embarking on the journey of parenthood. I am thrilled that you are interested in finding out more about either yoga or hypnobirthing, or even better; both, to help you along the way and I would love to tell you more!
Pregnancy is a very special time with not only physical but huge emotional changes as well. Pregnancy yoga supports women through their pregnancy with a range of techniques that can alleviate common pregnancy related conditions as well as being applicable to labour and birth and beyond into motherhood.
My classes are suitable for both beginners and experienced practitioners, the aim being to help women enjoy their pregnancy with minimal discomfort, cultivate breath awareness and strengthen the body. Yoga is a great opportunity to connect with your baby, deeply relax and learn techniques you can use during your pregnancy, birth and beyond. Classes are kept deliberately small so that I can get to know all of the women and they can get to know each other and feel part of a community of other women enjoying the same life-changing journey – often the starting place for deep friendships.
As well as yoga I also teach Hypnobirthing as a standalone but completely complimentary course. Hypnobirthing teaches the science behind birth, breaking down the inbuilt bias that modern media and horror stories have taught all of us and allowing your own natural abilities to work to their best advantage. At the end of the course you will feel fully prepared and even excited for the birth of your baby.
I firmly believe that pregnancy yoga and hypnobirthing are a perfect match fit with each other. Both work best when practised regularly and both practices work well together and benefit each other. Yoga helps prepare you physically and hypnobirthing prepares your mind. Most other hypnobirthing courses are delivered in a classroom format that you then take away and practice alone at home, whereas my yoga class gives you that weekly practice space to top up your homework as well as the opportunity to make regular contact with other mums and ask me any questions.
As a mum of two young children I know how tough motherhood can be sometimes, but I also know that having a baby is hands down the absolute best thing that I have ever done and teaching women during pregnancy means that I am utterly privileged to be able to share this journey time and time again.
I look forward to meeting you.
